Why tree planting?
Our plant a tree offer isn’t a gimmick – we’re passionate about sustainability. Did you know that 100% of our 4/6 seater taxis are electric or petrol hybrid? We’re working hard to transform the rest of our fleet to electric as vehicle technology catches up with our ambitions.
According to The Woodland Trust, planting native trees is one of the best ways to tackle the climate crisis. Why so? Trees absorb carbon and store it rather than allowing it to remain in the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas, so they can really help with our climate challenges. That’s why the Woodland Trust is aiming to plant 50 million trees over the next five years. We can’t see our ‘Plant a Woodland’ TripAdvisor reviews reaching those dizzy heights, but it’s important to do what we can. Every tree helps!
Supporting wildlife
Our little Northumbrian woodland sits close to a river. It’s a lovely, peaceful spot. Planting native trees there will help to a wealth of local wildlife. To date, we’ve spotted deer, squirrels, badgers and hundreds of birds including a stunning osprey. That’s not to mention the thousands of insects that live on the trees.
What transport does Ecocabs offer?
