Hexham Round Table are holding their annual Charity Fireworks and Bonfire night this Saturday, the 5th of November, at The Sele. The popular display always produces a great turnout, making it one of EcoCabs busiest nights of the year.
The spectacular display attracts locals of all ages and is free entry, though charitable donations are gratefully accepted. Hosting more than just fireworks, it is one of Hexham’s busiest events of the year. Always held on a Saturday, the last Hexham Round Table Firework display that fell on the 5th was in 2011, with the next not until 2022. Before the fireworks begin there will be an illuminated kite display as well as live musical entertainment from The Sunshine Panners from Haydon Bridge High School and from the A Batida Da Rua Samba Drummers from Hexham’s Queen Elizabeth High School.
There will be a range of stalls selling refreshments and glow bands with all the proceeds going to charity. Last year 12,000 people attended the event and raised over £14,000.
To get kids really in to the spirit of Guy Fawkes Day, there’s a Guy Fawkes competition available to those 18 and under with this year’s theme being Star Wars. More details are available on the Hexham Round Table website.
The Bonfire will be lit at 6:30pm with the Fireworks display starting at 7pm.
Each year proves to be a success and this year is set to be no different. We’re currently getting our taxis and drivers prepped – book now to avoid disappointment.
Remember to keep warm, stay safe and have fun! We hope to see you there!
